From Council Estate to Hollywood: My Unexpected Journey

How a boy from Norwich's 'hood' defied the odds and why your breakthrough is closer than you think

Not many people know this about me.

I grew up in the fine city of Norwich.

Norwich is a nice city, but every city has the 'hood' locations, and in my case, I lived in one of those locations.

I grew up on a council estate, where everyone I knew had nothing.

Many of the friends I grew up with are either nowhere in life right now, have been in and out of prison their entire adult lives, or are no longer with us.

I was fortunate; I had a stable home.

When my friends were out burgling people's houses, robbing old ladies, or dealing & doing drugs, I was knocking on doors selling the Watchtower or going to the Kingdom Hall.

I'm not in any way religious today; I believe in the creator, yes, but religion, no.

My family left 'the truth' when I was 13, and that was the year I celebrated my birthday for the first time and had my first Christmas.

I've done some crazy things in my life, not in the way my friends have, but in the way that, based on where I come from, seem like impossible things.

I've gone from nowhere to the top level of the music business.

I've moved from my hometown to London, from London to Los Angeles, and now we are living in paradise here in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.

The crazy thing is that for most people, certainly my friends who I grew up with, this is already a life's accomplishment.

But for me, no.

At 46, I feel like I am only just getting going.

I'm so pumped for everything that is about to come, everything that is about to happen.

I've worked for more than 5 years now to have the understanding and wisdom, on top of 20 years of being an entrepreneur, to get myself equipped to go and do the huge things I believe I was born to do.

I'm telling you all of this right now for one reason and one reason only.

No matter where you come from in life, no matter how bad your start is, there is always a miracle that can be created within you.

You can find a way to breakthrough, to be the next version of you, the version of you that will take you from A to B.

Getting from A to B is very hard, but once you get to B... then the sky's the limit.

The new versions of you will come at you faster than you can ever imagine.

The question is, are you prepared to be bold enough to do it?

Are you prepared to go out of your comfort zone and take above levels of action?

Are you prepared to take the sacrifices today, to get the huge gains tomorrow?

It is on you.

Only you can decide that tomorrow is going to be different.
